David MacKenzie is currently one of the Owners, as well as the Managing Director of Pemberton Valley Lodge. He brings over 30 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry to this leadership role. In addition, David has opened four hotel properties in western Canada and operated his own Adventure Travel business for 10 years.

David was elected to the Municipal Council for the Village of Pemberton in 2005, serving a three-year term which also included Acting Mayor. Additionally, he has served in the following roles with these organizations:

• Board Director, Canadian Cancer Society
• Board Director, BC Chamber of Commerce
• Chair, Vancouver Coast & Mountains Tourism Region
• Board Director, Tourism Industry Association of BC
• Vice President, Pemberton Chamber of Commerce
• Founder & Chair of Tourism Pemberton

David served as the 50th President & Chair of the BC Hotel Association and currently is serving as a Treasurer and Executive Committee Director on their Executive Board. He is also currently serving as a Director on the Board of go2HR and a Director on the Board of The Alliance of Beverage Licensees. In his spare time, he is one of the SAR Managers for Pemberton District Search & Rescue and an Auxiliary RCMP Constable with the Sea to Sky Regional Police Service.
