Hillary Folkvord

Hotelier & Entrepreneur, Sacajawea Hotel

Hillary Folkvord is a Montana native and serial entrepreneur at heart.

The foundation of her career was laid as one of the owners/operators of the Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, MT. A 1910 property turned boutique hotel, and home to the best steakhouse in Montana, Pompey’s Grill, the Sacajawea Hotel has become a destination for people from all over.

Building off the success of the Sacajawea Hotel, Hillary set her sights on Bozeman. In 2016, she reimagined a roadside motel into a retro motor inn now called the RSVP Motel. It officially opened in 2017, and located inside this vibrant property is the Farmer’s Daughter’s Cafe, a farm to table restaurant with a name paying homage to her 5th generation Montana farming family.

With her most recent venture into hospitality, Hillary decided to pivot. After years of being involved in Montana tourism, recognizing the current boom going on within the state, and seeing a need, she created Yellowstone Country. Designed as an online platform for “Everything Yellowstone,” it is a place for guests to curate their visit to Yellowstone National Park, as well as a way for hotels, restaurants, and other business to advertise to tourists visiting Montana. Yellowstone Country launched in 2023.

She loves her work, but when away from her businesses, Hillary is constantly craving travel & adventure, while enjoying great food and wine along the way. She has a non-stop pursuit for balance between hitting the road, wellness, and indulgence. This mission and lifestyle lead her to create Lady H in 2016, a creative outlet to share and hopefully inspire others with realistic approaches to travel, wellness, and motherhood.

Hillary gives much of the credit for her success thus far to her family and roots. Raised in Three Forks, MT by entrepreneurial parents, she was surrounded by the things she loves to this day, family, business, and travel. Her Montana ties led her to Montana State University on a golf scholarship, and from there, she headed to the University of Denver for an MBA in entrepreneurship & marketing. Leaving Denver, the next step was the Sacajawea Hotel, and as they say, the rest is history. Or, maybe one in the making…

Hillary currently lives in Bozeman with her husband, daughter, and son.
