Accomplished hotelier, Matthias Kammerer, joined The Biltmore Hotel & Golf Course in 2013 as the Managing Director, bringing over 35 years of industry and market experience to the iconic property. Kammerer arrives at the Biltmore after a seven year stint as the Managing Director of Canyon Ranch, Miami Beach. A Swiss native, he graduated from the Hotel School Loetscher, Muerren, Switzerland and is a trained professional Chef. His professional career includes stints with the Grove Park Inn & Country Club in Asheville, NC, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Sonesta Hotels & Resorts in Egypt and Anguilla B.W.I. before coming to Miami in 2002 at the Sonesta Beach Resort Key Biscayne as the General Manager & Vice-President. Kammerer has a proven track record of developing and growing luxury lifestyle hotels that meet the demands of discerning guests. He brings familiarity of the both local and international markets along with an extensive experience of working for privately owned hotels. Whether in Egypt, Anguilla or Miami, Kammerer has been active in the hospitality industry taking on volunteer roles such as the President of Anguilla Hotel & Tourism Association, President of the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Education Fund and Executive Board Member of the Greater Miami & the Beaches Hotel Association.
