Robert Howell
Rob Howell is currently the General Manager of the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Northeast Pennsylvania. He has been in the hospitality business for over 35 years. From fry cook, to host, to busboy, Rob has been a hands-on staff member and manager for his entire career.
As a hardworking, focused GM who believes culture, philosophy, training, communication, and teamwork drive an organization, Rob is incredibly passionate about the hospitality industry. He believes that every property has a uniqueness that can be highlighted, promoted, and brought to life to make a property standout among its competitors.
In addition to his hands-on hotel experience, Rob teaches at Northampton Community College to share his passion for the industry and speak on several topics. His specialties include sales and marketing, extensive knowledge of pricing strategies, marketing plans, and finding the unique selling properties of an asset. Rob has spent much of the last few years focusing on exceptional guest service while motivating and training staff to provide that same level of service.
Rob believes the best part of his experience has been working with individual owners and helping to solidify their vision and create operating procedures that assist in making their organization successful.
